Het zijn niet alleen maar brandnieuwe bandjes, die EuroSonic en Noorderslag bevolken. Neem nou Renegade Soundwave, een naam die beslist vele harten sneller doet kloppen. Vooral als die harten eind jaren tachtig ook al klopten voor stevige, door dub en funk beïnvloede dansmuziek. Want vanaf die tijd is dit Britse gezelschap (ooit een trio, nu een duo) al actief. En wat de groep in die tijd deed heeft absoluut invloed gehad op datgene wat tegenwoordig de dansvloeren overstroomt. Hoewel ze in de studio al actief zijn sinds pakweg 1987, traden ze pas voor het eerst op in '94. Maar daar kregen ze de smaak zo van te pakken dat ze het EuroSonic-publiek ongetwijfeld paf zullen doen staan.

EuroSonic and Noorderslag do not only programme brand new acts. Take Renegade Soundwave, once a trio, now a duo. They go back to the end of the eighties, when they already made their dub and funk influenced dance music. And their activities of those days have surely influenced what we currently hear on the dance floors. Although active in the studio since 1987, they did not play live until 1994. They liked their first taste of it so much, that they are sure to overwhelm the EuroSonic audience.
