| Denemarken staat niet direct in de voorhoede als het om popmuziek
gaat, al willen we het pionierswerk van Aqua hier niet t onder de
tafel schuiven. Maar met Envelope heeft dat land toch weer iets
waar je mee voor de dag kunt komen. Tenslotte had de band al heel
wat zalen en festivalpodia - onder andere het NEMO-showcasefestival
in Boston en het roemruchte Roskilde - geïnspecteerd voor het
debuutalbum onder de mensen kwam. De zeldzaam frisse, gitaargestuurde
pop op Stay geeft alle reden tot trots. Ergens tussen easy listening
en rebelse jaren-zestig-tegentonen ligt de essentie van Envelope
verstopt. Band met inhoud.

| Denmark is not really in the front line of pop music, although
the pioneer's work of Aqua should not be forgotten here. But Envelope
is something the country can be proud of. The band has played numerous
venues and festivals - among others the NEMO showcase festival in
Boston and the famous Roskilde - before their debut saw the light.
The rare fresh guitar-based pop on Stay is something between easy
listening and sixties rebellion. Not an empty-headed lot, this Envelope.
