Mentale Instrumentaaltjes
Zelf noemen ze het ‘instruMENTAL psychedelic space rock’ en eigenlijk hebben ze dan al genoeg gezegd. Ook al omdat een zangmicrofoon overbodig is, maar dat zeiden ze al. De mannen schamen zich niet om de raarste en meest tegenstrijdige invloeden bij mekaar te gooien en zo komen postrock, dub, jaren-zeventig-symfo, hardrock, elektronica en eh - zijn we niet nog een genre vergeten? - virtuoos aan hun eind in de psychedelische betonmolen van dit vijftal. Ze jammen een eind weg en blijven toch de hele route spannend: een hele prestatie.

Chief Mart’s call their music ‘instruMENTAL psychedelic space rock’ and really that sums it all up. They are not afraid to mix the weirdest and most contradictory influences. So they put dub, seventies sympho, hard rock, electronics and - eh, did we forget anything? - into their psychedelic concrete mixer. The quintet jam, they improvise – and stay exciting all the way. Quite an achievement.
