Rock Met Triphop-Grooves
Ooit had Cléan een heuse dj aan boord. Zulks wil in ieder geval zeggen dat deze band gevoel heeft voor de groove, en voor de hippe, dansbare geluiden die het DJ-volk in de muziek kan injecteren. Ook nu Cléan opereert in de standaardbezetting van bas, drums en twee gitaren, zijn die elementen nog aanwezig. De grooves zijn krachtig, de baslijnen ijzersterk en pompend, de gitaren barsten uit hun voegen en er is altijd wel een bandlid dat de laptop aan kan zetten voor wat versterkende of juist verstorende digitale inbreng. Dat Cléan ooit toerde met The Stranglers zegt vermoedelijk minder over de band dan dat ze een paar jaar geleden verhuisden naar triphop-stad Bristol. Het klimaat, de muziek en de feesten aldaar gaven de band een frisse impuls: wat harder, wat rauwer, wat briljanter.

Cléan’s line-up used to include a DJ - which is to show to you that this band has a strong sense of groove, and of the hip danceable sounds a DJ can inject into music. Now with their standard line-up of bass, drums and two guitars, dance elements are still essential in their music. The grooves are strong, the bass lines pumping and powerful and the guitars explode. And miraculously, one of the guys will always have a hand free to turn on the laptop for a digital boost or disturbance. More facts: Cléan once toured with the Stranglers and they moved to trip hop centre Bristol. The climate, the music and the parties there gave the band a new impulse and made them louder, rawer and more brilliant.
