Zigeunerpunk
Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, dat is de streek in Hongarije waar Parno Graszt vandaan komt. Het is de armste en meest achtergebleven regio van het land, maar ook de meest authentieke. Vandaar dat Parno Graszt vrolijk kan putten uit allerlei zigeunertradities, want die zijn daar nog springlevend. En zo kan deze groep oeroude wijsjes spelen alsof ze gister voor het eerst bedacht zijn. Dat doen ze soms met zijn achten en soms met zijn achttienen, soms inclusief een stel dansers die rondspringen alsof ze de pogo dansen maar dan heel precies, soms is het jongste lid tien en het oudste 72. Zo scheuren deze even virtuoze als felle zigeunerklanken dwars door de generaties heen.

Gypsy Punk
Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg is the Hungarian home of Parno Graszt. It is the poorest and least developed part of the country, but also the most authentic. The blooming gypsy traditions are a rich source for Parno Graszt. They play ancient tunes as though they are brand new. Sometimes they’ll play them with eight people, sometimes with eighteen (including a bunch of dancers jumping around), sometimes the youngest member is ten and the oldest 72.
