Als je na deze EuroSonic-editie nog niet overtuigd bent van het immense belang van de Scandinavische landen als rocknaties, dan ben je reddeloos verloren als popwatcher. The Soundtrack Of Our Lives is er weer zo een, een Zweedse topband die nu ook buiten de landsgrenzen heftig gaat doorbreken. In eigen land was het zeven jaar geleden al zo ver, toen het debuut ‘Welcome To The Infant Freebase’ heel wat stof deed opwaaien. De rest van Europa, inclusief xenofoob Engeland, dreigt nu pas om te gaan voor deze licht psychedelische popvariant, waarin de gitaren toch heus voluit staan.

If after this edition of EuroSonic you are still not convinced of the importance of Scandinavia for rock music, you are one useless pop watcher. The Soundtrack Of Our Lives is yet another example of Scandinavian splendour, successful in their own country and about to breakthrough abroad. Seven years ago their debut ‘Welcome To The Infant Freebase’ gained them critical acclaim in Sweden. Now the rest of Europe is about to be conquered too by this slightly psychedelic guitar-oriented pop.
