Pastorale pop
Één microfoon vinden ze wel genoeg, de twee meiden
en drie mannen van het Schotse Aberfeldy. Want de opnametechnieken
die goed genoeg waren
voor Frank Sinatra in zijn glorietijd zijn zeker goed genoeg voor
Aberfeldy. Dus negeren ze vijftig jaar studiotechnologie om hun vocale
harmonieën op klassieke wijze aan de band toe te vertrouwen.
Met succes, want de pastoraal getinte samenzang van deze prachtband
is in staat om versteende harten te doen smelten en dove oren weer
te doen horen. Bij wijze van spreken dan. Zo mooi als Aberfeldy zingt,
zo mooi dromen wij hier niet eens.

One microphone will do for the two ladies and three lads in the Scottish Aberfeldy.
The recording techniques that were good enough for Frank Sinatra in his glory
days are surely good enough for Aberfeldy. So they ignore fifty years of technical
developments to put their music on tape in the old fashioned way. A good choice
this has proven, because the pastoral harmonies of this marvellous band will
melt the coldest heart and make the deaf hear again. Their voices are more beautiful
than the sweetest of dreams.
