Ali Bouali is de man. Marokkaan van afkomst maar geboren en getogen
in Nederland is hij het toonbeeld van iemand die zich niets aantrekt
van vooroordelen en clichés en er toch wel komt. Nadat hij
voor het eerst een microfoon in handen had gehad liet hij het ding
amper meer los. Dus onderhoudt hij nu met zijn messcherpe tongriem
een dubbelcarrière als hiphopper en als standup-comedian.
Zijn show Ali B vertelt het leven van de straat is een klapper in
de theaters, de gelijknamige cd is een topper. Hits onder eigen naam
of aan de zijde van Marco Borsato (‘Wat zou je doen’)
gaan hem net zo gemakkelijk af als verschijningen in talkshows. En
hij is nog maar 23.

Ali Bouali is his full name. Born and raised in the Netherlands from
Moroccan parents, he is an example of a man who will not be hampered by
prejudice and clichés and goes his own way, quite successfully too,
we might add. From the moment he first got hold of a microphone he hasn’t
let go, working both as a rapper and stand-up comedian. His show Ali B
vertelt het leven van de straat (Ali B tells about life on the street)
is a big theatre hit, while the cd of the same title tops the charts. He’s
had several hits now, one of them with popular Dutch singer Marco Borsato
and his political engagement and sharp tongue make him a regular guest
in Dutch talkshows.
