DUBIOZA KOLEKTIV (BH) ft MUSH (FUN-DA-MENTAL) GRAMOFON

folkdubhop Het is goed om te zien dat zelfs uit Bosnië-Herzegovina, een land dat jarenlang verscheurd werd door oorlogsgeweld, bands de weg naar EuroSonic weten te vinden. Dubioza Kolektiv zet de verschrikkelijke ervaringen van toen en de hoop op wederopbouw van nu om in aanstekelijke dansbeats. Daarin vinden de strijdbaarheid van de hiphop, de geluidsverkenningen van de dub en de trots van hun eigen volksmuziek als vanzelfsprekend hun plek. De band is nog geen twee jaar oud, maar de verschillende projecten van de individuele leden vonden al hun weg naar interessante West-Europese labels als Pussyfoot en Law & Auder. Dubiozak Kolektiv werkt de laatste tijd veel samen met Muzaufar Shamil Khan, beter bekend als Mush, rapper van de Engels-Pakistaanse band Fun-Da-Mental. Hij werkte al met onder meer The Stranglers, The Fugees and Cypress Hill en zal tijdens EuroSonic meekomen als special guest. |

folk dub hop It is good to see that even bands from Bosnia-Herzegovina, a country tormented by war for years, find their way to EuroSonic. Dubioza Kolektiv turn the nightmares of that period and the hope of reconstruction into infectious dancebeats. In them the militancy of hip hop, the sound explorations of dub and pride of their own folk music all find their natural place. Founded only two years ago, several of the projects of the individual members have found their way to interesting West-European labels such as Pussyfoot and Law & Auder. Recently Dubioza Kolektiv has developed a cooperation with Muzaufar Shamil Khan, also known as Mush - the vocalist of UK-Pakistani band Fun-Da-Mental. Mush - who worked with groups and artists such as The Stranglers, The Fugees and Cypress Hill. Mush will appear as a special guest.  |
