Electro? Neo-jazz? Post-funk? noJazz is het allemaal tegelijk
en tegelijk ook weer allemaal net niet. De vijf Parijzenaars musiceren
in de geest van de traditionele jazz, maar mixen die met hypnotiserende
ritmes, samples en eigentijdse klanken als triphop, jungle, funk
en drum ‘n bass. Het resultaat is een vooruitstrevend geluid
waarin de magie van Frank Zappa, George Clinton en Miles Davis
doorklinkt. De laatste twee jaar wisten de neo-jazzmannen naam
te maken met explosieve optredens. Daarnaast werd hun unieke stijl
op de plaat vastgelegd onder toeziend oog van Teo Macero, de inmiddels
ruim zeventigjarige legendarische producer van Colombia Records
die onder meer Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Robert Palmer en
natuurlijk Miles Davis onder zijn hoede had. noJazz? No limits!

The five Parisians take traditional jazz as their starting point and mix it with hypnotizing beats, samples and modern sounds such as triphop, jungle, funk and drum 'n' bass. The result is a progressive sound echoing the magic of Frank Zappa, George Clinton and Miles Davis. The neo-jazz men have built up quite a reputation over the past two years with their explosive shows. They put their unique style on record, produced by Teo Macero, the legendary Colombia Records producer (who's well over seventy now) who did Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Robert Palmer and of course Miles Davis. noJazz?
