Americana
Americana uit de lage landen dan nog altijd. Smutfish is een Nederlands trio, dat meer dan eens vergeleken wordt met Sixteen Horsepower en Green On Red. Ze groeiden op met de favorieten van hun progressieve ouders, die Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen en dat soort helden in de kast hadden staan. Kijk, zoiets blijft je bij. Het debuutalbum Lawnmower Mind telt tien mooie luisterliedjes, maar live gaat het er ietsje extraverter aan toe. Op die plaat doet trouwens ene Dog Tag mee, een geheimzinnig man die mooi harmonium en banjo speelt en hallucinerend sterke absint stookt.

Americana
Americana from the lowlands. Dutch trio Smutfish have been compared more than once to Sixteen Horsepower and Green On Red. They grew up listening to their progressive parents’ favorites Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen and the likes. Their debut album Lawnmower Mind comprises ten beautiful calm songs. On stage the boys are a bit more extroverted. Note the contribution on the album from a mysterious man called Dog Tag, who plays harmonium and banjo beautifully and who distils hallucinatic strong absinthe.
