Op de planken is het een kwartet, officieel is het een duo en het heet Solo. Grapje meneer. Solo is het project van zanger-gitarist Michiel Flamman en toetsenman Simon Gitsels. Flamman houdt wel van pseudoniem meer of minder en neemt het spel met identiteiten serieus. Want ook in dit project laat hij zich J. Perkin noemen: de naam waaronder hij al een plaat maakte en hitjes schreef voor Birgit Schuurman. In Solo, dat is toegevoegd aan de kwaliteitsstal van Excelsior, kunnen beide mannen hun gevoel voor mooie, warme en niet te harde liedjes mooi kwijt. Denk Simon & Garfunkel, denk Nick Drake, denk Ed Harcourt en denk vooral Solo.

Live it’s a quartet, officially it’s a duo and their name is Solo. Solo is the project of singer-guitarist Michiel Flamman and keyboardist Simon Gitsels. Flamman likes to work under pseudonyms apparently, as in Solo he uses the alias J. Perkin, the same name under which he made a record and wrote several hits for Birgit Schuurman. Warmly welcomed by quality label Excelsior, the two men get all the opportunity they need to play their beautiful, warm and not too loud songs. Think Simon & Garfunkel, think Nick Drake, think Ed Harcourt and most of all, think Solo.
