Noorderslag Weekend 2006, taking place on Thursday 12, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 January, consists of EuroSonic (Europe’s Prime New Talent Event), Noorderslag Festival and Noorderslag Seminar. During EuroSonic (12 and 13 January) around 135 European bands will play on 20 stages. On Noorderslag Festival (14 January) over 45 bands and acts will play the eight stages of De Oosterpoort. And during the whole three days of the Noorderslag Weekend, the Noorderslag Seminar will host a large delegation of the European music industry. Eurosonic's special focus is on German bands this year.

WDR Rockpalast will be shooting a one-hour documentary an Noorderslag Weekend this year, to be broadcast later this year. You can expect the WDR camera’s at these concerts:

Silence Is Sexy, winner of the "Grolsch Grote Prijs van Nederland" Listen to the EBU bands: The European Broadcasting union supports a large number of bands performing at EuroSonic, with a number of shows broadcast to territories all over Europe. Noorderslag SMS Audience Award goes to: De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig During Noorderslag last saturday 14 january the audience could vote for their favourite act of the night. The musicfromnl audience award. great prizes are won Among the voters for instance entry tickets to Noorderslag 2007! the act with the most counted votes get a trophy, On second place has finished: new vool collective and san andreas was 3rd.
